About the position

The Application Engineer II plays a senior role within the Information Technology team, focusing on the creation, support, and enhancement of the organization's applications. This position involves mentoring junior team members, developing and maintaining software applications, and ensuring high performance and scalability. The role also includes responsibilities such as documentation, coding, unit testing, and supporting quality assurance efforts during migration and post-migration phases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable software applications utilizing best practices.
• Collaborate with product teams, customers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and accurately define scope and success criteria.
• Develop and maintain software documentation.
• Write and execute unit, integration, and system tests.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues.
• Stay up-to-date with latest software development technologies and trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent education and work experience.
• 5+ years experience developing applications.
• Strong understanding of SDLC.
• Highly proficient in required programming languages/technologies (e.g., Java, Javascript, Typescript, Python, Web, .Net, APIs).
• Experience working with databases, both relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (mongodb, dynamodb).
• Experience developing containerized solutions within a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
• Experience with version control, GIT preferred, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
