The Applications Engineer II will work on moderate to complex customer process solutions and may direct developing engineers. This role is crucial in ensuring that our solutions meet customer needs effectively and efficiently. As an Applications Engineer, you will primarily collaborate with the direct sales team to review customer requirements on small to medium complex projects. You will determine appropriate process solutions by performing calculations using standard tools and selecting the right equipment and materials to meet customer needs. Additionally, you will develop project costing and work with drafters to create necessary drawings for the application. Your role will also involve generating customer proposals utilizing standard tools and seeking appropriate approval levels. Effective communication of solutions to both internal and external customers is essential, as is understanding the risks associated with your work product. Furthermore, you will assist in mentoring AE I level engineers on business processes and smaller applications, fostering a culture of growth and accountability within the team.

Responsibilities

• Work primarily with the direct sales team to review customer requirements on small to medium complex projects.
• Determine appropriate process solutions by performing calculations using standard tools.
• Select appropriate equipment/materials to meet customer needs and develop project costing.
• Work with drafters to create drawings as required for the application.
• Generate customer proposals utilizing standard tools and seek appropriate approval levels.
• Effectively communicate solutions to internal and external customers.
• Determine and understand risks associated with work product.
• Assist in mentoring AE I level engineers on business processes and smaller applications.

Requirements

• Requires BS/BA degree in Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in a related field.
• Advanced knowledge of business tools, processes, and procedures.
• Ability to conduct and understand water quality projections.
• Competency in multiple standard equipment platforms and their employment.
• Thorough understanding of common components and their application.
• Able to execute complex tasks with limited guidance.
• Effectively collaborates with other disciplines in a team environment.
• Solid understanding of the sales process and how organizational role influences outcome.
• General understanding of financial principles as related to tasks assigned.
• Working understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
