This role is a part of the Test & Flight Operations team, providing centralized support to business units with a focus on the design, build, and maintenance of the ground systems, test, and launch facilities across multiple locations. As an Application Engineer III in Data Systems & Controls Engineering, you will be responsible for the design, development, and verification of data collection and control systems used in either flight component testing or ground launch support facilities. You will apply standard engineering techniques to design, develop, and maintain instrumentation or controls systems. This includes automating manufacturing or similar processes using instrumentation or controls systems, developing new and modifying existing PLC or HMI applications, interfaces, or embedded controls. You will have ownership in the set-up and commissioning of new facilities or upgrading of existing facilities, troubleshooting and resolving malfunctions, and making recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations. Additionally, you will document specifications and operating procedures. As part of a team of engineers, you will lead and support the creation, development, operation, and maintenance of space vehicle and rocket engine component test facilities, with a focus on data acquisition and control systems. You will contribute to the team's progress by collaborating with customers, test operations, and the design team to maintain software and hardware configuration as well as facility test cadence.
