About the position

The Application Engineer III position at Regal Rexnord Corp is focused on providing technical support for orders, addressing customer technical inquiries, and assisting in product, sales, and marketing activities specifically for the Clutch & Brake business. This role involves collaboration with various internal teams, including product support, customer service, manufacturing, and supply chain, while also participating in productivity and simplification projects. The engineer will work closely with the product team to develop solutions for repairs, reverse engineering, and failure analysis of clutches and brakes.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with the sales team and customer to translate customer specifications into product selections that meet customer and Regal Rexnord business needs
  • Designs custom modifications and accessories for targeted growth verticals and key customers
  • Interacts with sales team and customers to resolve application issues remotely and onsite, including broad product support
  • Conducts product tear-down analysis and populates data for root cause identification, corrective action forms and failure analysis
  • Evaluates deviation or substitution requests from plants/suppliers and provides guidance on resolution
  • Takes responsibility for and completes key tasks on a project-by-project basis and drives to meet deadlines ensuring project success
  • In conjunction with engineering, creates test plans to validate design concepts and material or manufacturing changes, summarizing results, and documenting conclusions
  • Resolves challenges related to the interpretation of drawings, design tolerances, quality and material requirements
  • Works closely with manufacturing, inspection and assembly to problem solve issues
  • Performs reverse engineering of competitor clutches and brakes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology equivalent from an accredited university
  • 7+ years experience in application support, preferably with industrial products
  • Understanding of Engineering BOMs and drawings
  • Proficient in MS Office tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively problem solve, prioritize, and execute tasks with a sense of urgency
