Responsibilities

  • Creates system design and installation drawings per the SOW
  • Makes modifications to existing designs or products to improve their performance or to integrate new technology
  • Ensures proper application and use of the proposed product
  • Collaborates with the research and development department to integrate new improvements into designs
  • Assists and works with the sales team to fully understand customer requirements
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Carries out site surveys and completes Fire Risk Assessments
  • Acts as a customer liaison at multiple levels

Requirements

  • Experience in application engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of system design and installation standards
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in technical drawing and design software
  • Knowledge of federal codes and standards related to building systems

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with fire safety systems
  • Familiarity with sustainable building practices
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role
