The Application Engineer, Inside Sales, EMD is responsible for facilitating the process of accepting a client's RFQ, transitioning to a proposal, and ultimately to an award with an order acceptance. This role requires the development of client and Business Development Manager (BDM) relationships to aid in the most efficient collaboration to help our buyers with their needs. The Application Engineer will have intimate knowledge and understanding of the EMD unit, as well as the client's pump, fan, and electrical system and process. This includes working with electrical and mechanical prints and diagrams, pictures, videos, and possible on-site visits to formulate the best strategy to implement the EMD into the heart of a client's industrial process. The role is not remote, and qualified candidates should be based in the Syracuse area. In this position, you will build relationships internally and externally, develop and maintain client relationships, coordinate and assist BDM in the successful implementation of client pilots, and provide, use, and house documents for the theory of operation, start-up, and commissioning of pilots. You will also travel to client sites and tradeshows as needed to win new business, assist product and marketing teams in developing marketing content, and aid on project management functions.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • S./M.S. degree in engineering, business, or experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years in an Application Engineering role.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell to industrial customers.
  • Familiarity with the industrial markets, electric motors, and variable frequency drives.
  • Understanding of how fans, pumps, electric motors, and VFDs work in industries.
  • Understanding of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
