About the position

The Application Development Engineer Intern position at Schneider Electric offers a unique opportunity for students pursuing technical education in engineering fields. This summer internship will provide hands-on experience in the Energy Management sector, allowing interns to work closely with the Power Products NAM Hub & Load Management team. Interns will engage in real-life projects, gaining valuable insights into business operations while contributing to innovative solutions for both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support to co-engineer PLC based automation applications.
  • Participate in the creation and development of differentiated and innovative solutions.
  • Engineer and execute PLC application conversion using SE technologies.
  • Create and share application guides, function blocks, white papers, and success stories.
  • Provide programming and technical development support for the Load Management group.
  • Visit customers with the salesforce or participate in virtual meetings to understand their needs.
  • Perform PLC programming and demo building for customer solutions.
  • Develop required technical and commercial argumentation documents.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a technical education and/or engineering degree in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Ability to learn programming functions and libraries in PLC environments.
  • Competence in creating visualizations/dashboards.
  • Competence in networking to establish connections between a cloud platform and an embedded ethernet device.
  • Strong communication skills with customers and local teams.
  • Customer focus and analytical skills to translate business requirements into automation solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant experience with developing automation systems for machines or similar projects.
