About the position

The Summer 2025 Application Development Engineer Intern at Schneider Electric offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the Energy Management sector. This role is designed for students pursuing technical or engineering degrees, allowing them to work closely with the Marketing & Product Management team to support key initiatives and projects. Interns will engage in real-life applications, enhancing their resumes while contributing to a Fortune 500 company.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support to co-engineer PLC based automation applications.
• Participate in the creation and development of innovative solutions for stakeholders.
• Engineer and execute PLC application conversion using SE technologies.
• Create and share application guides, function blocks, white papers, and success stories.
• Provide programming and technical development support for digital integration projects.
• Visit customers or participate in virtual meetings to understand their needs and validate solutions.
• Develop proof of concept (POC) through PLC programming and demo building.
• Create required technical and commercial argumentation documents.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a technical education and/or engineering degree in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Competence in programming functions and libraries in PLC environments.
• Ability to create visualizations/dashboards.
• Competence in networking for cloud platform and embedded ethernet device connections.
• Strong communication skills with customers and local teams.
• Customer focus and analytical skills to translate business requirements into automation solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Relevant experience with developing automation systems for machines or similar projects.
