About The Position
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for an Application Engineer to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role acts as the primary technical resource for the field sales force, and is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. You will provide technical and modification parts support to sales, PPC, shop, and NP teams to support order management and completion to achieve department goals. Additionally, you will perform research projects to support the manager in growing department efficiencies and capabilities. As an Application Engineer, you will review requests from sales to provide quick information for processing motor modification quotes and orders through various communication channels such as emails and phone calls. You will also develop and improve shop procedures to document current practices and methods, allowing for continuous improvement and uniform implementation. This includes conducting time studies to ensure operation routings are accurate for capacity calculations. You will assist the PPC, shop, and NP teams technically as needed and consistently mentor and train sales on technical information related to motor modifications. Your role will involve working closely with product engineers and QA personnel to evaluate possible factory issues. You will become proficient in maintaining and updating all motor modification technical tools to ensure they are accurate and reliable for users. Conducting training sessions for the sales group and field sales teams on motor modification processes and procedures will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will support stock inventory conversions via the modifications process and source and develop new parts for addition to inventory or special projects.
