About the position

The Application Engineer Manager at Actalent is responsible for enhancing customer relationships and driving sales of carbide teeth and spare parts for mulching and construction attachments. This role involves supervising a team of Parts Specialists, managing a portfolio of customer accounts, and developing effective sales strategies to boost parts sales. The manager will also engage in customer satisfaction evaluations and maintain compliance with company policies while fostering a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Re-establish, qualify, and maintain contact with customers to increase sales of carbide teeth and spare parts.
  • Supervise three Parts Specialists, setting departmental and individual goals, and holding employees accountable for performance.
  • Enhance relationships with current customers and dealers in the US to boost parts sales.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of potential opportunities and establish partnerships through cold calling and presentations.
  • Maintain a portfolio of 400 customer accounts, developing sales strategies and proposals.
  • Manage product demonstrations and deliver impactful sales presentations.
  • Create a strategic management plan to optimize customer engagement and identify new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction and address concerns to improve loyalty.
  • Generate quotations, performance reports, and customer correspondence.
  • Utilize reporting for documentation of sales calls and customer records.
  • Coordinate with headquarters parts department for updates and information.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of parts sales experience in the heavy equipment industry.
  • Customer service-related experience as a technical parts representative or field service technician.
  • An associate's degree from an accredited college, along with multiple industry training certificates is preferred.
  • Adequate mechanical knowledge to comprehend heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in Excel, with knowledge of Vlookup and pivot tables.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong customer service and telephone skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to assist customers and employees professionally.
  • Excellent managerial abilities and a self-starter approach.
