About the position

Credo is seeking a junior-level Application/System Validation Engineer to join their Application Engineering team. This role focuses on the characterization and validation of high-speed SERDES for PCIe retimer markets, providing an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform characterization of high-speed SERDES for PCIe retimer markets.
• Conduct system level validation for various applications and environmental conditions.
• Assist the firmware team in improving the SERDES adaptation algorithm using lab test results.
• Manage and resolve customer application issues.
• Generate application notes for Credo SERDES.

Requirements

• Experience in high-speed serial links, particularly with protocols like Ethernet, PCIe, USB, and SATA.
• Deep knowledge in system bring-up of high-speed serial links and lab testing.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, C, or Matlab for automation of validation efforts.
• Experience in leading mixed-signal SerDes system validation.
• Familiarity with silicon bring-up, debugging, and production ramp processes.
• Knowledge of SerDes design and architecture, including CDR and equalization techniques.
• Understanding of Tx/Rx equalization techniques and adaptation.
• Knowledge of link jitter budget for high-speed serial links and key block level requirements.
• Familiarity with ADC-based links and equalization techniques.
• Strong communication, partnership, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with system level software setup.
