About the position

As a Front End Application Engineer at Discover Financial Services, you will collaborate with product designers and user experience experts to enhance the customer experience on discover.com. Your role involves developing high-quality user stories and features while managing risks and customer-impacting issues. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to technology communities within the company.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features with high quality (security, reliability, operations) to production
• Tend to Associate Application Engineers by providing learning tasks and directing the work of Senior Associate Application Engineers
• Achieve team commitments and influence others by using informal leadership and highly developed communication skills
• Oversee design decisions and guide the team to achieve key results for assigned products
• Remediate issues using engineering principles and create proactive design solutions for potential failures
• Contribute to and lead technology communities at Discover

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
