About the position

The Application Engineer - Rheology position is a critical role within our client's organization, focusing on the sales and support of rheometers. This position is based in Richmond, VA, and is designed for an individual who is passionate about rheology and has a strong technical background. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, which include sample measurements, and will play a key role in interpreting data and troubleshooting issues that arise during the use of rheometers. This role not only requires technical expertise but also exceptional communication skills, as the engineer will interact with a diverse range of clients, from Quality Control Technicians to University Professors and CEOs. In addition to sales support, the Application Engineer will be tasked with installations and training for customers, ensuring they are well-equipped to utilize the rheometers effectively. The position also involves providing after-sales support to existing customers, which is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty. Participation in conferences and trade shows is expected, allowing the engineer to showcase the company's products and engage with potential clients. Responsibilities

  • Conducting, evaluating, and presenting feasibility studies (sample measurements).

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in rheology or related methods.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) for interactions with clients ranging from Quality Control Technicians to University Professors and CEOs.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science.
  • Availability for frequent overnight travel (up to 40%).
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
