About the position

The Applications Engineer (AE) at Polar Power will act as the primary liaison between the company and its customers, focusing on the design and application of energy and cooling systems. This role involves ensuring that the correct components are selected and specified for customer projects, while also providing technical support and building strong relationships with clients. The AE will engage in business development and assist in pre-sales applications to meet customer needs, contributing to the overall success of the company's diverse product line.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers to build strong relationships with engineers, buyers, and decision makers.
  • Provide technical presentations that promote the company's product line(s).
  • Assist with the design of Polar Power products on new programs and advise engineers on best practices for use and installation.
  • Work with a variety of strategic key customers within North America with limited travel.
  • Manage existing client accounts and perform business development with these accounts.
  • Educate customers on product alternatives, features, and benefits.

Requirements

  • BS degree preferred (technical - ME or EE), advanced degree is a plus, or equivalent technical experience.
  • A solid engineering background with sales experience is a plus, including technical sales and application engineering.
  • Excellent strategic and conceptual skill sets.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical applications and develop customer-specific solutions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-prioritize and be self-sufficient in a small company environment.
  • Assist in pre-sales applications development to meet customer requirements and sales objectives.
  • Provide pre-sales technical expertise to resolve customer application inquiries to assist in closing sales.
  • Assist with the creation of feasibility studies for customer-specific application requirements.
  • Ensure deliverables are met in a timely fashion.
  • Provide post-sales applications support to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide telephone and on-site engineering support for application-related issues.
