About the position

The Application Engineer at Emerson is responsible for overseeing and managing projects related to feeding systems. This role involves coordinating projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide high-quality feeding solutions that meet customer expectations, while also supporting sales efforts and providing technical assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive and compelling proposals through analysis and collaboration with sales representatives and engineers.
  • Formulate innovative technical solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Calculate feeding solutions with all add-ons and prepare polished offers.
  • Articulate and discuss proposals with the sales team, making necessary adjustments.
  • Assume end-to-end project responsibility, ensuring adherence to deadlines, costs, and quality standards.
  • Manage claims and address issues during the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate internal escalation processes for project challenges.
  • Coordinate project-related meetings with relevant departments.
  • Oversee coordination and acceptance procedures internally and at the customer's site.
  • Conduct joint customer visits and consultations during inquiry and concept phases.
  • Articulate solution concepts to customers and provide technical support in online meetings.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for operational/application inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics-Precision Engineering, or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in project management with a solid grasp of project controlling.
  • Demonstrated competence in cross-functional collaboration with design, assembly, manufacturing, and Quality Management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in delivering presentations and effective negotiation skills.
  • Experience in customer interactions, understanding requirements, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Decision-maker and problem-solver, adaptable to evolving project requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to meet project demands.
  • Proficient in standard office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Key Account Leadership skills within the automation customer base.
  • Experience in the automation/machine building sector.
  • Experience with CAD-CAM software.
  • Experience in feeding technology.
  • Skills to build and present presentations regarding the subject matter.
