About the position

As an Application Engineer at Emerson, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing projects related to feeding systems within our organization. This position is designed for a skilled and experienced individual who is eager to grow and take on new challenges. You will be responsible for coordinating and leading projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and quality assurance, will be essential in delivering high-quality feeding solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. This remote position is based in Nashville, TN, allowing you to work flexibly while contributing to our innovative projects. In this role, you will be tasked with several key responsibilities. You will begin with the Offer Creation process, where you will develop comprehensive and compelling proposals through meticulous analysis and collaboration with field sales representatives, customers' machine builders, and design engineers. Your ability to formulate innovative technical solutions tailored to client requirements will be critical. You will also calculate feeding solutions with all necessary add-ons and prepare polished, presentable offers that ensure clarity and professionalism. Articulating and discussing proposals with the sales team, while making adjustments as necessary, will be part of your daily activities. You will assume overall project responsibility, ensuring consistency with deadlines, cost considerations, and quality standards. This includes managing claims and addressing issues that may arise during the project lifecycle, facilitating internal escalation processes in response to project challenges, and coordinating project-related meetings with relevant departments. Your role will also involve taking charge of coordination and acceptance procedures both internally and at the customer's site. Sales support is another critical aspect of your responsibilities. You will conduct joint customer visits and consultations during the inquiry and concept phases, articulating solution concepts to customers to ensure thorough understanding. Providing technical support in online meetings and acting as the primary point of contact for operational/application inquiries will be essential to your success in this role. This dynamic position requires a blend of meticulous offer creation, comprehensive project management, and dedicated sales support, making you a pivotal player in developing feeding solutions and ensuring seamless project progression.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics-Precision Engineering, or two to three years of relevant experience.
  • Experienced in project management with a solid grasp of project controlling, ensuring alignment to timelines and budgets.
  • Demonstrated competence in cross-functional collaboration with design, assembly, manufacturing, and Quality Management (QM) to achieve project objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in delivering compelling presentations to diverse audiences, and effective negotiation skills with a focus on maintaining project security.
  • Experience in dealing with customers, understanding their requirements, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Decision-maker and problem-solver, adaptable to evolving project requirements and dynamic work environments.
  • Willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet project demands and support international collaborations.
  • Proficient in standard office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Confirmed Key Account Leadership skills, ideally within the automation customer base.
  • Understanding experience in the automation/machine building sector.
  • Experience with CAD - CAM software is preferred.
  • Experience in feeding technology is a plus.
  • Validated skills to build and present presentations regarding the subject matter to move an opportunity forward.
  • Detail oriented, ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high-pressure environment; strong initiative and good judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient in English, with a preference for additional proficiency in other languages to facilitate effective communication in a global context.
