About the position

Ryan Herco Flow Solutions is seeking an experienced Application Engineer/Customer Service Representative to join our Inside Sales/Customer Service team in Tampa, FL. This role is pivotal in providing sales support for parts, equipment, and services related to our offerings. The successful candidate will work closely with Field Sales Representatives, Repair Sales Representatives, and Repair Sales Management to ensure that we maximize profit margins while fostering positive relationships with our customers and principals. In this position, you will be responsible for learning the products we represent, understanding their applications, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as gaining insights into our competitors' capabilities. You will also familiarize yourself with each supplier's sizing and selection program or procedure. Your role will involve developing quotations for our customers, maintaining accurate files, and entering orders into our order handling system after confirming consistency with our proposals. Building strong relationships with customers is essential, as you will be their go-to resource for rotating equipment needs. Additionally, you will collaborate with vendors to enhance your product knowledge and ensure that you understand where their equipment fits within our scope of supply. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for resolving any warranty issues that may arise, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Responsibilities

  • Provide sales support for parts, equipment, and services for Ryan Herco Flow Solutions/SunSource.
  • Work collaboratively with Field Sales Representatives, Repair Sales Representatives, and Repair Sales Management.
  • Maximize the company's profit margins while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Learn the products, their applications, strengths, weaknesses, and competitors' capabilities.
  • Familiarize with each supplier's sizing and selection program or procedure.
  • Develop quotations for customers and maintain accurate files.
  • Enter orders in the order handling system after reviewing customer orders for consistency with proposals.
  • Build relationships with customers to become their first choice for rotating equipment needs.
  • Develop relationships and product knowledge with vendors for accessory equipment.
  • Collaborate with Principals factory personnel.
  • Resolve warranty issues with customers as they arise.

Requirements

  • Mechanical degree preferred or equivalent combination of work experience, training, and/or education.
  • At least 2 years in an inside sales or technical support role in a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably in the fluid power or fluid processing industry.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate with functional groups to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency.
