About the position

The Application Engineer position is a temp to hire role focused on providing engineering support for electronic packaging and systems. The role involves interfacing between sales and engineering teams, preparing cost proposals, and offering technical support to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-tech manufacturing and be proficient in relevant software tools.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend solutions based on current products and customer requirements
  • Provide product application engineering to support design (interface between Sales and Engineering)
  • Prepare cost proposals and quotations for Regional Sales Manager
  • Support RSM in preparing system configuration descriptions and other order specific configuration documents
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Responsible for completeness of documentation to Engineering and provide prompt and effective feedback to Engineering on open technical issues from customers whenever needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in a high-tech manufacturing
  • Strong PC skills with MS Office, MS Project and PowerPoint
  • Experience with 3-D modeling software (Solid Designer) and AutoCAD software
  • A technical degree is preferred
  • Single Board Computer, Ethernet Switch, Storage and Software integration knowledge a plus
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Some understanding of contract review is necessary
