About the position

The Application Engineer for Turbocor - Chiller Systems at Danfoss Drives is responsible for providing engineering-level technical support to integrate Turbocor compressors into various cooling systems. This role involves collaboration with OEM design professionals and internal teams to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction. The engineer will utilize their expertise in centrifugal compressors and refrigeration systems to solve problems and improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with OEM design professionals to integrate Turbocor compressors into their products' systems.
  • Travel to OEMs for application training, prototype testing, product promotion, and troubleshooting services.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between Danfoss Turbocor Engineering and OEM technical support teams.
  • Evaluate OEM customer equipment field startups and communicate findings in written reports.
  • Understand and comply with quality policies to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Create product technical documentation for design and application purposes.
  • Develop detailed technical reports for internal and external communication.

Requirements

  • Experience in refrigeration system design and cycle analysis.
  • Knowledge of refrigerant properties and PH diagram analysis.
  • Experience in reading, interpreting, and creating PID diagrams.
  • Expertise in control logic and programming for multi-purpose PLCs or dedicated controllers.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic controls integration protocols such as Modbus, RS232, RS485, and CAN bus.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel skills.
  • 5 years of industry experience with deep technical knowledge of centrifugal or screw chillers.
