About the position

The Application Engineer for Turbocor at Danfoss is responsible for providing engineering-level technical support to integrate Turbocor compressors into chillers and other vapor compressor cooling systems. This role involves collaboration with OEM design professionals, the Turbocor engineering team, and various internal departments to promote and support Danfoss Turbocor products effectively. The position requires strong problem-solving skills and effective communication to enhance the operation and efficiency of Turbocor-based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with OEM design professionals to integrate Turbocor compressors into their products' mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Travel to OEMs to provide application training, prototype testing support, qualification, product promotion, and system troubleshooting services.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between the Danfoss Turbocor Engineering functions and the OEM technical support team, ensuring clear communication.
  • Participate in and evaluate OEM customer equipment field startups, providing findings and recommendations in written reports.
  • Understand and comply with quality policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Create product technical documentation for design, application, and bulletins.
  • Develop detailed technical reports for internal and external communication.

Requirements

  • Experience in refrigeration system design and cycle analysis.
  • Knowledge of refrigerant properties and PH diagram analysis.
  • Experience in reading, interpreting, and creating PID diagrams.
  • Experience in creating effective control logic and programming for multi-purpose PLCs or dedicated controllers of complex electromechanical devices.
  • Basic knowledge of common electronic controls integration protocols including Modbus, RS232, RS485, and CAN bus.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, with advanced Excel capabilities being a plus.
  • 5 years of industry experience with deep technical knowledge of centrifugal chiller, screw chiller, or related industrial equipment.
