About the position

The Application Engineer position is a critical role within our client's organization located in Atlanta, GA, designed to support multiple Software as a Service (SaaS) applications utilized by the IT and Finance teams. This role is expected to last for an initial contract duration of 5 months, with a strong preference for local candidates. A video interview is mandatory for all applicants. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Agile Information Technology organizations and a strong data-oriented mindset, which is essential for the successful execution of the responsibilities associated with this position. In this role, the Application Engineer will focus heavily on realizing end-to-end integrations with the enterprise agile planning and work management tool, Apptio Targetprocess, along with other IT tools. This includes tool configurations and customizations to meet the evolving needs of Agile teams. The position also involves enabling the Technology Business Management framework and practice by identifying, procuring, and integrating diverse IT-related data sets, leveraging the ApptioOne platform. The candidate will be expected to have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in data integration and application administration. The responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including the development of holistic data integration solutions that cover ingestion, cleansing, transformation, loading, testing, and quality assurance. The Application Engineer will also be responsible for creating SaaS web application mashups and integrations from conception and design through to testing, implementation, and ongoing support. Proficiency in REST APIs, Webhooks, Javascript, JSON, XML, and HTML/CSS is required, along with a solid understanding of Agile development practices such as Scrum and Kanban. The role demands effective communication and collaboration skills, particularly using Microsoft Teams, as well as strong self-management, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple SaaS applications utilized by IT and Finance teams.
  • Realize end-to-end integrations with Apptio Targetprocess and other IT tools.
  • Configure and customize tools to support Agile teams' needs.
  • Enable Technology Business Management framework by integrating diverse IT-related data sets.
  • Develop holistic data integration solutions including ingestion, cleansing, transformation, loading, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Create SaaS web application mashups and integrations from conception to ongoing support.
  • Optimize and automate workflows and business processes.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in data integration and application administration.
  • Hands-on experience with holistic data integration solutions.
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, Webhooks, Javascript, JSON, XML, HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with Agile development practices, including Scrum and/or Kanban.
  • Strong self-management, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills using Microsoft Teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience working with Apptio Products such as ApptioOne, Targetprocess, Cloudability.
  • Experience in the development, maintenance, and administration of Technology Business Management applications.
  • SaaS application administration and configuration experience, particularly with agile tools like Targetprocess, Jira, or Rally.
  • Familiarity with Cloud / FinOps practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform including Power Automate & Power BI.
