About the position

The Application Engineer at Ainsworth plays a crucial role in project execution by collaborating with Project Managers, field technicians, sales teams, clients, and vendors. This position involves designing, developing, and testing programs while ensuring high customer satisfaction and adherence to budgetary guidelines. The engineer is expected to actively participate in team discussions, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project turnover meetings to gather necessary information for engineering tasks.
  • Design and develop network layouts, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts according to client and company standards.
  • Select materials such as control modules and field sensing devices to meet project specifications and codes.
  • Write Sequence of Operations based on in-house design standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to purchase custom materials for projects.
  • Develop project commissioning checklists for startup and commissioning processes.
  • Ensure high client satisfaction and compliance with project specifications and budget guidelines.
  • Utilize Ainsworth or client standard programs for project design, modifying as necessary.
  • Conduct functional tests on programming to ensure compliance with specified sequences of operation.
  • Maintain communication with field technicians, sales, and clients at all levels.
  • Work with Project Manager to ensure timely issuance of as-built and project closeout documents.
  • Stay updated on Delta hardware, software, tools, and applications.
  • Advise owners and contractors on control application strategies and options.
  • Participate in team and engineering meetings, contributing ideas and feedback constructively.
  • Drive improvements in company processes and methods within a cross-functional environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with co-workers and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering or related field.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Understanding of HVAC Control Systems and Building Technology offerings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as energy-related tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating with consultants and contractors on integrated projects.
  • Strong sense of urgency and task prioritization.
