About the position

As an Applications Engineer at Quest Integrity, a Baker Hughes company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of inspection tools used in the energy and process industries. Your responsibilities will include managing inspection tool requirements, developing task lists, and overseeing related projects, particularly focusing on diagnostic initiatives when challenges arise. You will also be responsible for implementing lessons learned from these challenges to improve future operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between the Manufacturing and Research and Development teams, ensuring that best practices are followed during new product deployments. You will continually assess field procedures and tool specifications to optimize performance and effectiveness in real-world applications. Your work will involve frequent travel to field sites, where you will review project information, assist with testing and deployment of new tools, and troubleshoot any mechanical, electrical, or software issues that may arise during tool development. Additionally, you will provide technical support to the sales team and assist in pre-sale site surveys, ensuring that all inspection tools are functioning correctly and efficiently. This position requires a hands-on approach, as you will be involved in the manufacturing and maintenance of inspection tools, as well as addressing IT-related issues to ensure that field personnel's PCs are properly configured for operation. You will also be responsible for testing, monitoring, and tracking tool functions, documenting changes and results, and evaluating tool chemical compatibility. Responsibilities

  • Traveling frequently to field sites
  • Reviewing project information and helping determine project requirements
  • Assisting with testing; software/analysis, field operations, and new tool deployment
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and/or software issues during tool development
  • Assisting with manufacturing and maintenance of inspection tools
  • Providing technical support to the sales team and assisting in pre-sale site surveys
  • Assisting with IT related issues within the office and out of office; ensuring field personnel's PCs are properly configured to operate custom inspection tools
  • Testing, monitoring and tracking tool function; running flow loop tests; documenting changes and results, as well as evaluating tool chemical compatibility

Requirements

  • Have an Associate's degree from an accredited university in an Engineering field (or technical degree in Engineering/Technology)
  • Have experience in automated inspection and/or nondestructive inspection environment required; In-Line Inspection (pipelines and piping systems) experience preferred
  • Display proven knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design, testing, and production of NDT and quality control instrumentation and systems
  • Have experience working in a hands-on environment preferred
  • Be a team player, have excellent communication skills
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Be able to travel up to 50% of the time
