About the position

This position involves creating and improving test tools, writing secure and maintainable code, and ensuring high-quality test cases. The role requires troubleshooting technical systems, collaborating with multiple teams, and aligning work with Amazon's business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Create or improve existing test tools.
  • Transform defined designs into code and deliver on schedule.
  • Write secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects.
  • Write high-quality, high-value, and maintainable test cases.
  • Assist developers and testers by reproducing errant product behavior and accurately reporting defects.
  • Analyze logs to identify errors and provide failure analysis to developers.
  • Solve problems at their root by understanding the broader context.
  • Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
  • Set up and configure monitors to prevent prolonged outages.
  • Write and review accurate support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
  • Make sound decisions using good judgment and instincts.
  • Prioritize tasks in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Align work with Amazon's business objectives and deliver business value.
  • Continuously improve knowledge about Amazon's business and relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to resolve issues.
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Experience scripting in modern programming languages.
  • Experience in Unix.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS, networks, and operating systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
