About the position

The Application Engineer at Ainsworth plays a crucial role in project execution by collaborating with Project Managers, field technicians, sales teams, clients, and vendors. This position involves designing, developing, and testing programs while ensuring high customer satisfaction and adherence to budgetary guidelines. The engineer is expected to actively participate in team discussions, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to the overall success of projects through effective communication and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project turnover meetings to gather necessary information for engineering tasks.
  • Design and develop network layouts, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts according to client and company standards.
  • Select materials such as control modules and field sensing devices to meet project specifications and codes.
  • Write Sequence of Operations based on in-house design standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to purchase custom materials for projects.
  • Develop project commissioning checklists for startup and commissioning processes.
  • Utilize Ainsworth or client standard programs for project design, modifying and enhancing as needed.
  • Conduct functional tests on programming to ensure compliance with specified sequences of operation.
  • Maintain communication with field technicians, office sales, and clients/vendors.
  • Ensure timely issuance of as-built documents and project-specific closeout documents with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of Delta hardware, software, tools, and applications.
  • Advise owners and contractors on appropriate control application strategies and options.
  • Participate in team and engineering meetings, contributing ideas and feedback constructively.
  • Drive improvements in company processes and methods within a cross-functional environment.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, providing and accepting feedback.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering or related field.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Understanding of HVAC Control Systems and Building Technology offerings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, technical, and financial abilities.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint software programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with consultants and contractors on integrated projects.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
