About the position

The Application Engineer at Modine Manufacturing Company is responsible for developing specific designs that meet customer requirements economically, focusing on products manufactured by the Coolers team. This role involves overseeing the process from design to manufacturing and shipping, ensuring that all specifications are met and that new models are delivered on time. The position is based onsite in Grenada, Mississippi, and reports to the Engineering Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Design heat exchangers and cooling system modules for assigned customers.
• Coordinate the build and ensure the accuracy of units.
• Ensure understanding by plant production and manufacturing personnel of design specifications.
• Work closely with other departments and the plant to ensure new models are delivered on time and meet all customer requirements.
• Monitor feedback from the field and initiate product improvement when appropriate.
• Support other engineers and designers with product development projects related to design and documentation as needed.
• Provide technical assistance to the customers engineering personnel.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) is required for this role.
• 1-3+ years of work experience in electrical engineering is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with heat transfer, thermodynamics, or thermal management and its applications.
• Prior experience working with customers in an engineering capacity.
• Experience with HVAC or unitary design.
• Sheet metal design.
