About the position

As an Application Engineer at Chart Industries, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our innovative cryogenic process technologies and equipment. Our mission is to be the global leader in this field, focusing on clean power, clean water, clean food, and clean industrials. In this position, you will be responsible for developing proposals and assessing customer needs to recommend appropriate products and services. You will also provide technical support to clients after the sale of the product, troubleshooting any technical problems that may arise. Your day-to-day activities will involve reviewing and analyzing customer requirements for product applications, acting as a liaison between engineering and sales representatives, and providing technical assistance to maximize sales volume and market penetration. You will ensure that proposals are consistent with quotes and review them for accuracy, maintaining a high level of proficiency in application engineering skills and tools. Additionally, you will engage with various business functions to promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to gathering critical site information about Howden's installed base, which will be collected for the CRM system to prospect for additional opportunities. You will also prepare all necessary documents for handover meetings in accordance with MS Dynamics AX, ensuring a smooth transition and support for our clients. The work environment is primarily office-based, with a hybrid model that allows for some flexibility. You will be expected to travel up to 10% of the time, which may involve visiting client sites or attending meetings. Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze customer requirements for application of products and recommend a suitable product selection
  • Act as liaison between engineering and sales representatives regarding specific product applications, product design improvements, and possible product development ideas
  • Provide technical assistance, information, support, and guidance to customers and sales representatives to maximize sales volume and earnings
  • Provide input for proposal, data packages, and product and parts pricing proposals
  • Ensure proposals are consistent with quotes and review for accuracy and edit for correct spare parts and data listed
  • Maintain the required level of proficiency in application engineering skills, plus the use of Application Engineering tools
  • Engage with all businesses and functions to promote and sustain a continuous improvement culture within the organization
  • Represent the Company with customers and business partners
  • Gather critical site information about Howden installed base for CRM system and prospect for additional opportunities
  • Prepare all required documents for Handover meetings in accordance with MS Dynamics AX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years applications experience including selection and costing, preferably with rotating equipment
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Customer focus while balancing Howden and the customer's interests during disputes
  • Logical problem-solving skills and outstanding organizational skills
  • Decision-making skills with knowledge of varying decision-making styles
  • Ability to interact with diverse global cultures and demonstrate effective communication skills
