About the position

As an Application Engineer at Scantech Digital, Inc., you will play a crucial role in supporting sales efforts to potential customers within an assigned territory. This position involves both direct and channel sales opportunities, where you will be responsible for introducing and integrating our technical team and Solution Partner resources to demonstrate our capabilities effectively. Your primary goal will be to maintain and grow customer relationships, ensuring that clients fully understand the benefits of our 3D scanning and inspection solutions. In addition to sales support, you will engage in post-sales activities, which include providing technical training, conducting benchmarks, and facilitating proof of concept demonstrations. You will also support live events such as tradeshows, open houses, and roadshows, showcasing our innovative solutions to a diverse audience. Your contributions will extend to the development of technical content, including training guides, best practices, and case studies that highlight our success stories and comparative studies in the industry. This role requires a proactive approach to customer engagement and a deep understanding of the technical aspects of our products. You will be expected to work closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure that our solutions meet the evolving needs of our clients across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales to potential customers in an assigned territory for both direct and channel sales opportunities.
  • Introduce and integrate the technical team and Solution Partner resources to customers to demonstrate capabilities.
  • Maintain and grow customer relationships, ensuring customers understand the benefits of 3D scanning and inspection solutions.
  • Support sales and post-sales activities including technical training, benchmarks, and proof of concept.
  • Assist in live events such as tradeshows, open houses, and roadshows.
  • Contribute to the development of technical content including training guides, best practices, and articles.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in support services or sales.
  • Experience using metrology equipment including portable and stationary 3D scanners (laser and structured light systems).
  • Experienced operator of inspection software solutions.
  • Experience with robotic 3D inspection systems and articulated arms, optical and laser trackers is a plus.
  • Experience in a fast-paced R&D, project-based, or hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to travel.
