About the position

The Application Engineer (proposals focus) at E Tech Group is responsible for initial consultations with customers and the development of estimates and proposals for industrial automation solutions across various industries, including food & beverage, life sciences, and chemicals. This role involves collaborating with business development managers, preparing detailed project estimates, and maintaining technical knowledge to support the sales process. The position requires a strong understanding of engineering requirements and the ability to analyze and present cost estimates effectively.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to review the technical scope and engineering requirements.
• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Quote normal Control Panel / PLC / HMI projects with minimal assistance.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and educational background.
• 5+ years of Industrial Automation experience directly related to design, controls, programming, and electrical engineering.
• Past experience of extensive use of the Company's Methods, Tools, and Process specific to estimating and proposal management standards.
• Understanding of ERP / Project Costing Systems and parametric estimation tools.
• Extensive understanding of customer plans, specifications, technical documentation, and RFQ documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.
