About the position

The Applications Engineer II at LINAK is responsible for leading complex projects that integrate LINAK products into customer applications. This role involves providing technical and application support to various functional groups and customers, ensuring that LINAK's innovative actuator solutions are effectively utilized in diverse settings such as hospital beds, office desks, and industrial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with sales staff and customers to provide technical support for specific market segments, including mechanical, electronic, and software products.
  • Collaborate with sales engineering staff at LINAK to address customer concerns and product issues.
  • Provide competent application support for a singular SBU, including advanced troubleshooting and application redesign.
  • Utilize LINAK technology to drive product and application innovation.
  • Lead the transition of new complex customer projects to production, coordinating testing and advising sales on prototypes and production orders.
  • Create and implement project plans for complex projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct and organize FAI, PPAP, and set tests.
  • Act as a customer/product liaison for other functional teams as required.
  • Assist in training Applications Engineer I and related roles.
  • Identify product gaps and weaknesses compared to competition and relay market intelligence to SBU.
  • Assist SBU and marketing with technical details related to product management.
  • Travel for tradeshows, customer visits, and product training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 2-5 years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or project management.
  • Comprehensive electronic/mechanical aptitude and detail orientation.
  • Satisfactory completion of Basic and Advanced Product Training.
  • Demonstrated expertise in specific products and SBU applications.
  • Working knowledge of project management philosophy is preferred.
  • Experience with customer visits and building customer relationships is required.
  • Detail orientation, good communication skills, and basic leadership skills.
