About the position

The Application Engineer at Eaton's ES AMER NAS division is responsible for achieving the acceptability of Eaton's electrical products in the marketplace. This role involves providing technical leadership and mentoring for sales engineers, OEMs, and both internal and external customers. The engineer will lead the design, development, and validation of Eaton products and service applications, while also offering pre-sale application and technical support to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and accurate pre-sale application and technical support by analyzing and recommending solutions to meet customer's needs.
  • Manage daily phone and email activity while providing directions, solutions, and recommendations.
  • Effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies.
  • Review and provide feedback on product literature developed by the product line.
  • Provide feedback to product marketing and engineering regarding technical documentation and information.
  • Serve on special teams to enhance team performance and drive process improvement.
  • Provide training to technical support engineers.
  • Call on electrical engineers at consulting firms to assist with technical design and position Eaton products favorably.
  • Support major projects including submittals and interfacing with customers and project consultants.
  • Work with institutional end users to promote Eaton products.
  • Conduct product seminars and training on Eaton products and solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of electrical sales/marketing and/or electrical engineering experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Knowledge of Eaton electrical products, services, and competitive offerings.
