About the position

The Application Engineer is responsible for enhancing process capabilities and providing total systems solutions for end-user applications. This role involves using technical knowledge and experience to support customers, improve their return on investment (ROI), and collaborate with sales teams to create accurate proposals and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Understand the relationship between pumps, motors, valves, filters, controls, and other complementary equipment to develop a complete equipment package.
• Design and apply centrifugal, positive displacement, and/or vacuum pump technologies.
• Provide solutions to customer applications.
• Create pump 'skids' for end users, utilizing existing layouts or creating new ones.
• Work with the outside sales team to provide timely quotes.
• Respond to customers' needs even when limited information is provided.
• Coordinate projects and customer follow-up.
• Formulate bid quotes using existing templates to maximize effectiveness.
• Promote a team approach between engineering, outside, and inside sales.
• Conduct problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Establish personal rapport with potential and current customers.
• Work collaboratively to provide engineered solutions for process improvements.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, vendor training, and reviewing professional publications.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience and/or comfort level working directly with customers.
• Articulate communication skills, both written and presentation.
• Problem solving and systems development.
