About the position

The Application Engineer at FUCHS is responsible for driving technical customer projects, leading product trials, and providing technical support in the automotive lubricants sector. This role emphasizes the importance of application competence and collaboration with various departments to ensure the successful implementation of lubrication solutions. The engineer will also stay updated on industry trends and provide training to sales and application engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical customer projects regionally.
  • Lead product trials and provide technical support.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of application competence in key business segments.
  • Act as the prime contact for product and application expertise in the regional application of OEM genuine brand fluids.
  • Support business segment managers in profitable growth through application know-how and technical expertise.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive lubrication solutions for targeted commercial segments.
  • Support the setup and monitoring of products, toll blenders, packaging, labeling, and technical documents.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and customer regulatory awareness related to automotive lubricants.
  • Provide technical support to sales and local application engineers, including product recommendations.
  • Conduct technical training for local sales, application engineers, and significant customers.
  • Compile and contribute application-related know-how and success stories to the product information platform.
  • Collaborate with Product Manager for product life cycle management and training activities.
  • Participate in industry tradeshows, seminars, and webinars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a technical field (chemistry, chemical/mechanical/material preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in key industry (e.g., chemical, lubricants, relevant global business segment).
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Good command of MS Office.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a global, regional, and local team.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High willingness to travel regionally at a minimum of 40-50%.
