About the position

As an Application Engineer at 3M, you will engage with customers to understand their needs and translate those into product requirements. This role involves collaboration with a global product development team to create and commercialize innovative solutions based on customer feedback. You will play a crucial role in supporting business growth through data-driven interactions and developing customer-specific application data packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical interactions with customers to understand their needs and gather feedback.
• Translate customer requirements into product requirements.
• Determine if existing 3M solutions meet customer needs or if new products are necessary.
• Collaborate with 3M's global product development team to develop and commercialize products.
• Support business growth through data-driven interactions with customers.
• Develop customer-specific application relevant data packages and information.
• Be available to meet demanding customer needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Science or Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience in gathering product information, data collection, and/or translating to product requirements in a relevant environment.
• Three years of experience in the field of Copper Interconnects (Cables/Connectors/Assemblies).

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Two years of experience with electronics customers, preferably in the Data Center Market.
• Skills in product and technology development, customer application engineering, and global experience.
• Strong process and statistical thinking approach.
• Strong key account/customer experience directly engaging with VOC and insights related activity.
• Strong technical capabilities combined with a strong technical network.
• Ability to create CAD mechanical drawings/designs.
