About the position

The Application Engineer will be responsible for a comprehensive range of application engineering duties that are critical to the successful operation and performance of CNC machine tools. This role involves not only programming but also conducting time studies, performing demonstrations, setting up machines, and providing training to users on both turning and milling CNC machine tools. The engineer will work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and ensure that the machines are set up to meet those requirements effectively. This position requires a strong technical background in CNC machining, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to clients and team members alike. The Application Engineer will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the application process, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, the role may involve collaborating with the sales team to provide technical support during the sales process, helping to demonstrate the capabilities of the machines to potential customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform programming for CNC machine tools including turning and milling operations.
  • Conduct time studies to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
  • Demonstrate machine capabilities to clients and provide hands-on training.
  • Set up CNC machines for various applications and ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CNC machine operations.

Requirements

  • Experience as a CNC machine tool application engineer or manufacturing engineer.
  • Strong programming experience with all types of machining.
  • Background in a machine shop environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
