About the position

The Applications Engineering Manager at Bastian Solutions is responsible for leading the applications team in Custom Automation. This role involves overseeing all aspects of Application Engineering and Solution Development, collaborating closely with the management team and marketing staff to enhance communication and operational efficiency. The manager will mentor Application Engineers, ensure accountability, and maintain a positive work culture while driving innovative solutions for customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the applications team in Custom Automation.
• Oversee all facets of Application Engineering and Solution Development.
• Collaborate with marketing staff to produce literature and strategic marketing plans.
• Work closely with management and other Application Group managers.
• Mentor new and existing Application Engineers to build confidence and self-sufficiency.
• Review and approve designs, proposals, and estimates delivered to customers.
• Analyze opportunities to determine appropriate margins for projects.
• Perform annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Develop tools and templates to improve proposal quality and response time.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• Master's Degree in Business or Engineering or P.E. is a plus.
• Strong technical applications background.
• Ability to lead and inspire team members.
• Experience in generating and executing strategic marketing plans.
• Expertise in using and managing CRM systems.
