About the position

This onsite position in Orlando, Florida, is responsible for routine engineering work that requires the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. The role is essential for supporting the engineering team and ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively. The individual will work under the guidance of the Engineer Manager or Application Engineer Sr., performing various engineering calculations and preparing necessary documentation for projects. The position involves performing structural engineering calculations related to the application of products, preparing Bills of Material, and executing Application Engineering Functions as required. The engineer will also be expected to make job site visits as directed by the supervisor, assisting Account Managers in sales efforts when requested. Continuous professional development is encouraged, and attendance at classes and seminars to maintain professional competency is expected. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with limited experience in structural engineering, providing an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field while contributing to meaningful projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural engineering calculations as they relate to the application products.
  • Prepare Bills of Material.
  • Perform Application Engineering Functions as required.
  • Make job site visits as directed by the supervisor.

  • Attend classes/seminars to maintain professional competency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience in the field of structural engineering as it relates to either steel, cast-in-place concrete, precast or tilt construction.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience in reading blueprints.
  • Experience in using structural analysis software for simple beam and column elements structure is a plus.
  • Self-starter, motivated and able to take the initiative, with the ability to start and finish a project on time.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in using structural analysis software for simple beam and column elements structure is a plus.
