About the position

The Application Manager is responsible for overseeing the ongoing operation and maintenance of the MES/MRP system and other applications. This role involves managing user access, providing support and training, and ensuring optimal system usage. The Application Manager will also collaborate with stakeholders to develop reporting and dashboard solutions, analyze system performance for process improvements, and manage vendor relationships. Additionally, the position includes implementing new applications and integrating various systems to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ongoing operation of MES/MRP system along with other applications, including performance, troubleshooting issues, and planning software updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Oversee customization of the system to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Manage user roles, access levels, and permissions for all applications.
  • Provide user support and training to ensure optimal system usage and self-service reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting and dashboard needs.
  • Configure and maintain reports and dashboards.
  • Utilize SQL and other reporting tools for creating, automating, and customizing reports as needed.
  • Support data extraction, analysis, and the creation of actionable insights for various departments.
  • Continuously analyze system performance and business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement system modifications to streamline operations.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors and service providers for all applications.
  • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and technical teams to align system functionality with business needs.
  • Manage implementation of new applications including MES/MRP.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely deployment.
  • Manage integration of different applications (MES/MRP with financial systems, Salesforce, and other relevant applications) via APIs or system connectors.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in application management, preferably with MES/MRP or ERP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience with MES/MRP, Salesforce, and financial systems.
  • Knowledge of SQL for querying databases, data mapping, and generating reports.
  • Familiarity with Apex, SOQL, and Salesforce Reports and Dashboards.
  • Basic knowledge of VBScript or JavaScript for workflow customization.
  • Strong understanding of API management and system integration tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred certifications in SQL database management and programming.
  • PMP or other project management certifications.
  • Prior experience with Manufacturing systems is desirable.
  • Experience with system integration, especially with financial systems and CRMs like Salesforce.
