About the position

The Application Operations Engineer at GE Aviation is responsible for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of critical applications, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and a passion for problem-solving, adaptable to support various levels of an IT ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Manage the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of applications in various environments.
• Monitor application performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Respond to and resolve computer and software incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on business operations.
• Work closely on development, QA, and infrastructure to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
• Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline application operations and improve efficiency.
• Maintain documentation of application configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance application operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a High School Diploma with 5 plus years' experience in Information Technology related fields.
• Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

• Understanding of databases and proficiency in SQL.
• Understanding of containerization and virtualization.
• Proficiency in programming (Java, JavaScript, or other).
• Comfortable navigating Linux and Windows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot.
