About the position

The Application Owner for Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) and Mobile applications at The Hartford is responsible for ensuring the availability, quality, and compliance of applications. This role involves managing production support, application health, and lifecycle management while collaborating with business partners to meet their needs and enhance customer satisfaction. The position requires a strong technical background in IT systems operations and application development, with a focus on incident management, vendor relationships, and adherence to business SLAs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the application owner for Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) and Mobile applications.
  • Provide production support and ensure application availability and quality of service.
  • Manage application health, including impacts from changes introduced by development and maintenance.
  • Communicate with the business regarding production issues and ensure adherence to SLAs.
  • Oversee Applications Life Cycle Management and Information Life Cycle Management.
  • Ensure compliance with technology and business roadmaps.
  • Develop options to maximize investments in applications.
  • Implement disaster recovery solutions and compliance initiatives.
  • Drive incident reduction and improve asset currency.
  • Update documentation and manage risk and compliance using tools like Archer.
  • Validate code repositories and perform code scan analysis for vulnerabilities.
  • Manage critical incidents and vendor resource onboarding/offboarding.
  • Engage with business partners to understand their goals and provide consultative advice.
  • Support business case development for significant enhancement requests.
  • Ensure application readiness for release and participate in release management activities.
  • Monitor vendor performance and manage sourcing capacity based on business demand.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in IT systems operations and application development, preferably in an SRE role.
  • Strong software engineering skills with experience in Identity and Access Management products and Front-End/Mobile technologies like Angular and Ionic framework, Java.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
  • Understanding of Linux system internals and familiarity with TCP/IP stack, network routing, and load balancing.
  • Proficiency in observability tools (DynaTrace, Splunk) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
  • Ability to troubleshoot systematically and take ownership of work.
  • Design and development skills in service design patterns, APIs, and UI/UX frameworks.
  • Strong relationship-building and exceptional communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with large-scale complex systems from a reliability perspective.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOX, PCI, and PII.
