About the position

The Application Performance Monitoring Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the growth of the IT Operations Center function within the Digital Resilience & Operations Center. This position is focused on ensuring the performance and reliability of applications through effective monitoring and management practices. The engineer will be responsible for evaluating and establishing service monitoring processes, which include device discovery, data sources, host/entity management, service definition, template and KPI creation, thresholding, alerting, and notifications. In addition to monitoring, the role requires integration of Splunk and OpManager with ServiceNow for ticket creation, which is essential for maintaining a seamless workflow in incident management. The engineer will also support program, platform, and data administration, as well as user management related to Splunk and OpManager tools. A strong understanding of static versus adaptive thresholding capabilities is necessary, as well as experience in event versus metric-based monitoring. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in IT operations, with a focus on capacity and performance management processes.
