About the position

The Application Platform Owner at WaFd Bank serves as a strategic leader and liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. This role is responsible for understanding and integrating business, risk, product, financial, and regulatory requirements into technology-driven initiatives, particularly focusing on the Alloy platform. The position involves collaborating with vendors, defining technical solutions, and ensuring that products meet business expectations while delivering measurable outcomes. The role emphasizes strategic planning, advanced analysis, and leadership in developing and implementing technical solutions to enhance client onboarding processes and mitigate fraud risk.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and broaden knowledge of the Alloy application.
  • Understand business rules, thresholds, and workflows to reduce risk during client onboarding.
  • Make recommendations for enhancements to improve business outcomes.
  • Partner with business line and product team leaders for strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the application is updated and configured correctly.
  • Administer back-end configurations within the Alloy application.
  • Collaborate with third parties for integration and enhancement opportunities.
  • Perform product analysis and monitor key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Monitor vendor alerts and determine appropriate actions.
  • Assist with integrating new products and services into Alloy.
  • Participate in troubleshooting system issues and outages.
  • Document department procedures and lead training efforts on the Alloy application.
  • Lead the requirements definition process for product, regulatory, and business needs.
  • Support audits and assist business units in defining requirements for improvements.
  • Coordinate with compliance to define and translate regulatory changes into requirements.
  • Document integrated, cross-departmental requirements for products and compliance needs.
  • Support WaFd Bank's technology strategy and roadmap as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of software development and banking operations.
  • Proficiency in configuring, customizing, and optimizing applications.
  • Ability to influence and drive change within the organization.
  • General knowledge of bank systems and a strong desire to learn more.
  • Ability to define detailed requirements for audit and compliance recommendations.
  • Strong organizational and advanced customer relations skills.
  • Ability to gather functional needs from non-technical conversations and use analytical tools like Excel and SQL.
  • Ability to evaluate information from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts.
  • Graphics and modeling experience to represent requirements graphically is a plus.
  • Technical writing skills for documenting policies and procedures.
