About the position

The Application Product Engineer is a pivotal role within our organization, serving as the leading technical expert responsible for optimizing product systems tailored for unique safety applications. This position requires a deep understanding of automotive safety standards and a commitment to customer satisfaction. The engineer will support product implementation from the initial concept phase through to production launch, ensuring that design, quality, process, and cost needs are met effectively. In this customer-focused role, the Application Product Engineer will lead all technical aspects of the inquiry-to-order process. This includes defining the Bill of Materials (BOM), conducting validation testing, developing samples, maintaining clear communication with customers, and overseeing the release of technical drawings. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all product specifications are met and that the final product aligns with customer expectations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, particularly in automotive product development, and will be adept at mechanism design, including components such as seat belt buckles and retractors. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal stamping and plastic injection molding is essential, as is familiarity with AIAG core tools. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as the engineer will be responsible for developing and training other engineers within the team. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly Solidworks, is required, and the candidate should be prepared to travel as necessary for customer visits, trade shows, and training sessions.
