The Application Production Support Deployment Engineer plays a critical role in overseeing the builds and deployment of software releases to both production and non-production environments. This position requires a strong focus on ensuring that all deployment processes are executed smoothly and efficiently. As a Deployment Engineer, the individual will be responsible for deploying changes in production and lower environments, acting as a Change Coordinator to collaborate closely with development, testing, and support management teams. This collaboration is essential to guarantee that releases are conducted without issues and adhere to established protocols. In addition to deployment responsibilities, the engineer will serve as a gatekeeper for all in-scope environments, including production, ensuring that proper release procedures are followed meticulously. The role also involves recommending process improvements and training new resources on Build, Release, and Change Management processes. Analyzing software change requests in relation to configuration and release management strategies is a key part of the job, as is ensuring that Quality Assurance (QA) is performed on each change request prior to approval. The engineer will coordinate with multiple internal and external change stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and documentation as per the established processes. They will own the daily and weekly reporting and change communications, working closely with the Change Advisory Board (CAB) based on the type of change request. Participation in technical project discussions and release planning with various stakeholders is also expected, providing expertise and insights to facilitate successful project outcomes.
