About the position
The Applications Programmer Analyst position at the Minnesota House of Representatives is a full-time, nonpartisan role focused on developing, designing, and supporting applications that facilitate the legislative process. The analyst will work primarily in the Chief Clerk's Office, ensuring that documents are published and accessible to members of the legislature, staff, and the public. This role requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work under pressure, especially during legislative sessions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and support applications for the Minnesota House of Representatives.
- Maintain and document customized Microsoft Office desktop applications for the Chief Clerk's Office.
- Publish documents for legislative sessions for members, staff, and the general public.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a pleasant and efficient work environment.
- Prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience with .NET Framework and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proficiency in ASP.NET, MVC, C#, and Entity Framework.
- Experience with MS Visual Studio 2022 and Oracle SQL Developer.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
Nice-to-haves
- Understanding of the legislative process.
- Experience with web design and DevExpress tools for WinForms.
