About the position

The Application Programmer/Systems Analyst IV at KaiHonua, LLC is responsible for designing and building applications to support government customers. This role involves working closely with the System Analysis and Development team to enhance user interfaces, administer existing applications, and develop new solutions using various programming languages and tools. The position requires a strong understanding of programming technologies and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and builds applications using a variety of programming languages, techniques, and tools.
  • Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements.
  • Contributes to the design team's efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organization's offerings.
  • Designs the application to support the organization's strategies and goals relative to external communications.
  • Administers existing Asset and Service Management applications using standard development tools and in-house developed scripts.
  • Develops and administers Microsoft Reporting Services and Crystal Reports according to management requests using AC/SM databases.
  • Administers and develops custom Ruby on Rails based asset management web site.
  • Drafts and maintains SOP documents for the functional category.
  • Develops applications to support the enterprise, including creation of data models, databases, and development of interfaces.
  • Plans tests, prepares test data, executes testing, identifies, analyzes, and repairs errors, and retests applications prior to implementation.
  • Prepares, updates, and distributes end-user and/or system operator's manuals and online help facilities.
  • Provides advice on automating functions and integrating requirements with existing capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline preferred but not required.
  • Must possess and maintain an IT I level certification IAW AR 25-2 and an IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
  • Seven to ten years of experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of current Asset and Service Management software (e.g., Remedy ITSM, HP OpenView AssetCenter, HP Service Manager).
  • Familiarity with Ruby and Ruby on Rails framework.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) procedural language; Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio .Net, and object-oriented programming languages.

  • Experience in developing technical documents and producing system design documentation.
