About the position

Genesis10 is seeking an Application Programmer to manage and govern data assets for the Climate Risk Platform within the financial industry. This role focuses on ensuring data integrity, compliance, and maximizing the value of data across the organization. The position involves developing data governance frameworks, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and monitoring data quality to support the company's overall data strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Climate Risk Platform's data assets are managed, governed, and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Define and manage data policies, ensuring data quality for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of data assets as part of data stewardship.
  • Support the company's overall data strategy, ensuring compliance and maximizing data value.
  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Define data ownership and accountability, documenting roles and responsibilities clearly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data governance principles into business processes and technology solutions.
  • Monitor compliance with data governance policies and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Facilitate the Data Governance Council/Committee for data-related decision-making and policy development.
  • Design and implement data quality standards, processes, and controls for high-quality data.
  • Develop data quality metrics, KPIs, and reports to monitor data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Conduct regular data quality audits and assessments to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with data owners and users to resolve data quality issues and improve processes.
  • Support data profiling, validation, and cleansing activities to maintain data health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management principles, and data stewardship best practices.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Atlan) and data quality tools (e.g., Collibra, Talend, Informatica Data Quality).
  • Knowledge of Climate and Environment Risk.
  • Experience with data modeling, metadata management, and data classification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to solving data issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
