About the position

The Application Programmer will be responsible for developing and delivering complex software solutions to meet business goals within the financial industry. This role involves ensuring compliance with functional and non-functional requirements, coding, unit testing, and integrating solutions into existing systems. The position requires strong collaboration with audit and regulatory teams, as well as adherence to Agile practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver complex software requirements to meet business goals.
  • Ensure software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
  • Code solutions and perform unit testing.
  • Integrate solutions into the overall application/system with robust interfaces.
  • Collaborate with Audit/Regulatory teams to ensure compliance.
  • Optimize Oracle database query performance.
  • Work with data warehousing and OLTP solutions.
  • Implement technical code delivery adhering to Agile Application lifecycle management.
  • Participate in Agile processes such as pair programming and daily stand-ups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related field required.
  • 10+ years of professional experience developing solutions in Oracle PL/SQL and Hadoop.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a Unix environment and Shell scripting.
  • Strong experience working with Audit/Regulatory teams.
  • Experience with Oracle database and query performance optimizations.
  • Experience with data warehousing and OLTP solutions.
  • Strong skills in PL/SQL and stored procedures.
  • Experience with Oracle 19c.
  • Strong experience with scheduling tools like Autosys.
  • Ability to implement technical code delivery using Continuous integration/delivery tools including Ansible.
  • Experience and desire to work in an Agile process and Framework (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the problem domain in which they have been working.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with domain-driven design.
  • Distributed systems experience.
  • Relevant industry experience (Compliance, Entity/Transaction Scanning, Anti-money Laundering, etc.).
  • Experience with Python technologies.
  • Experience with JIRA.
