About the position

The Application QA Analyst at PGE is responsible for conducting a wide range of quality assurance tests to ensure that software meets specified standards and user requirements. This role involves drafting and revising test plans, creating test data, coordinating user acceptance testing, and ensuring successful completion and documentation of system tests. The analyst will work independently while receiving moderate guidance, solving complex problems, and contributing to the overall quality management of software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality assurance tests to ensure software meets standards and user requirements.
  • Draft and revise test plans and scripts to align with IT strategy.
  • Create test data files for thorough testing of program logic and system flow.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, including alpha and beta testing.
  • Document and resolve all problems identified during testing.
  • Review requirements and specifications to define test conditions.
  • Design test cases and scripts, mapping back to predetermined criteria.
  • Analyze and report test activities and results, identifying issues and risks.
  • Specify and develop test scenarios for new or updated processes.
  • Engage with users/stakeholders to define user characteristics and goals.
  • Advise on quality management techniques and facilitate process improvements.
  • Investigate and document internal controls of automated processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in IT, with a preference for testing and automation experience.
  • Working knowledge of testing tools, techniques, and standards.
  • Experience with business process tests and usability evaluations.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented and service-oriented design, as well as multi-threaded applications.
  • Ability to write SQL queries and perform back-end testing.
