About the position

The Application QA Tester at American Power & Gas is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through rigorous testing processes. This role involves analyzing user and business requirements, developing test cases, executing tests, and collaborating with developers to deliver high-quality software solutions. The position offers a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, allowing for a work-life balance without weekend commitments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user and business requirements to develop test cases that ensure all criteria are met and the software functions as intended.
• Convert test plans into detailed scripts and prepare relevant test data.
• Execute tests, record results systematically, and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Evaluate outcomes, provide thorough analysis, and deliver recommendations supported by findings.
• Collaborate with developers to communicate results effectively and ensure quality outcomes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and executing test plans for complex software systems.
• 5 years in software development, QA, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in testing processes.
• Proficiency in test script creation and execution.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles.
• SQL knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Change Management best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Extensive experience in reviewing requirements, developing test plans, and validating system performance.
• Skilled in documenting test results, identifying defects, and collaborating with developers and stakeholders for resolution.
• Ability to work independently or within a team to deliver high-quality, bug-free software.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
